Locaweb has made its second acquisition in less than a week, as announced today (29). This time, the company has acquired Etus, a social media management firm.
To integrate Etus into its operations, Locaweb will allocate R$ 18.95 million. Additional compensation may be awarded to the sellers, contingent on achieving goals linked to net operating revenue.
Established in 2015, Etus specializes in digital marketing management across social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, Linkedin, Pinterest, and Twitter. The company asserts that it serves over 100,000 brands.
In a previous interview with CNN Brasil Business in July, Fernando Cirne, CEO of Locaweb, had already indicated the company’s intention to acquire within the marketing sector. He explained that when Locaweb pursues acquisitions, it considers the maturity of the businesses, targeting well-established companies in advanced stages of development.
Having gone public with its IPO in February, Locaweb has only made one other acquisition since then, announced last week. The more recent of the two deals was struck with Social Miner, a company providing technology and solutions for e-commerce and retailers, enabling real-time interactions with visitors. Social Miner’s clientele includes Natura, Wine, Kabum, Droga Raia, and Drogasil, among others. The financial terms of the operation were not disclosed.
